LINKS2PINK DOES STRICTLY
Twelve couples, who were complete novices took up the challenge and attended dance lessons for a period of 8 weeks, in which time they learnt a group dance and another with their partner.
Ballroom Blitz NI provided all the routines and put each couple through their paces.
Following a lot of time, effort and dedication from all involved the dancers put on two spectacular shows at The Dunsilly Hotel in Antrim.
The event was really well supported by friends and family of all the dancers, we would like to thank everyone who attended and Ballroom Blitz NI for their expertise and patience!
A total of £11,500.00 was raised over the two nights, which will be used to help families in the Borough who are suffering due to illness.
From all of us at LINKS2PINK : KEEP DANCING :-)
We recently met up with Carla McCann and her son Kayden.
Kayden was diagnosed with having Cerebral Palsy when he was 2 years old.
In April Kayden and his family travelled to Alder Hey Children’s hospital in Liverpool where Kayden had an operation on his legs to allow him to become more independent and have a better range of movement.
After 3 weeks of intense Physiotherapy Kayden returned home to Randalstown, when we met with him he said he loves his life now and his legs feel loose and that he can now play football with his friends.
Kayden is a keen supporter of Spurs Football Team and loves to go and watch his local gaelic team Tir na Nog.
Links2pink were delighted to be able to help the family with funding to ensure that Kayden continues to get stronger through receiving the physiotherapy swimming lessons he requires over the incoming months. We look forward to meeting Kayden again to see how he is progressing.
A very special little boy who definitely won our hearts!
Team T Birds are running various events throughout the year. Really appreciate what these guys are doing. Giving up their time and energy to help others.

NATHAN ON THE RUN FOR LINKS2PINK
Nathan Porter, will be taking on three different marathons around the world. I am looking forward to the tough challenge and getting involved with fantastic local charity Links 2 Pink to raise as much I can to help improve the lives of local families suffering due to illness, with your generous donations. I will be travelling to Vancouver, Canada for the first marathon on the 1st May. The following day the teams from Links 2 Pink will be tackling the Belfast City Marathon,
I wish them the best of luck and hope they have a great day. My second marathon of the year will be a month later in Derry/ Londonderry at the Walled City Marathon on the 5th June. Then in September I will be warming up with the Belfast half marathon before heading off a week later to the race I am most excited for, one of the worlds marathon majors in Berlin on 25th September to finish off this years challenge.
Hopefully I can inspire others to do the same and show their support to Links 2 Pink, a local charity doing great work in our town and surrounding areas. If you would like to help their cause and make a donation you can do via the following mydonate link, contact me on facebook or pop in to the O2 store in the Castle Centre. At the minute there are no specialists in Northern Ireland, or not that I know of. If your lucky enough to see a specialist you have to go to the mainland . Very few medical professionals have any experience in this area most only know what they have read in a text book or online.
So if anyone wants to donate its a text number its £2 to FACE16 70070 #uniquesmiles #facemyday
ACTION CANCER BUS
We were delighted to be able to have the Action Cancer breast screening and health check bus at Junction One Antrim for five days in December
About one in eight women in the UK are diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime. There's a good chance of recovery if it's detected in its early stages.
Breast screening aims to find breast cancers early.
It uses an X-ray test called a mammogram that can spot cancers when they are too small to see or feel.
